Barbara was raised in Salisbury, NC, and lived in Chestnut Hill for 28 years before moving to Cambridge in 2015, where she lives with her husband, George. They have one daughter, Charlotte, age 23. She joined Chickering in 2001 and served as President from 2014-2017. In addition to her role as President, she has served as Vice President from 2011-2014 and Treasurer from 2009-2011. Currently, she serves on the Nominating Committee. She has been the liaison to the Dimock Center, Families First, and is now on a team as a liaison to HomeStart. In addition to Chickering, Barbara serves on the Board of Trustees of Fenway High School, an urban pilot school on Mission Hill in Boston. Previously, she has served as a trustee at Shady Hill School, has been a warden at the Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut Hill, and has mentored students at Beacon Academy. In her professional life, Barbara was a systems engineer at Electronic Data Systems, a project manager and sales manager at BancTec, Inc. and also at VidCode, Inc. and a marketing and sales consultant at Sara Campbell, Ltd. Barbara enjoys traveling, cycling, vegetable gardening, skiing, and walking the family dog.
